Employers and others with stakes in what courses will be offered at West Texas A&M University’s planned downtown campus will get a chance to talk about it today at Amarillo Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re anticipating that campus will grow to 3,000 students,” said Neal Weaver, vice president of institutional advancement at WT.

The school currently has from 1,350 to 1,500 students in the Chase Tower on three floors. It started on one floor in 2008.

The Marshall Convention and Visitors’ Bureau Tuesday approved the sale of its Wonderland of Lights assets in storage to Hawaiian Falls Water Park in the amount of $60,000.

N.M. man pleads guilty in murder-for-hire plot

A Portales, N.M., man pleaded guilty to a federal murder-for-hire charge after authorities said he hired an undercover Amarillo police officer to kill his wife.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque, N.M., Cody Guss, 37, pleaded guilty without a plea agreement in response to an indictment of using a telephone in interstate commerce to commission a murder-for-hire.
